HOPALONG KNUT play their ska-music fast, hard and tight without mercy. This is live music, it’s energy, that’s why there’s joy, party and sweat everywhere HOPALONG KNUT strikes. HOPALONG KNUT may have the most powerful horn section in Norway, and most certainly the most energetic vocalist: Kristin Jensen. When these two, together with the tightest rhythm section, pumps the grooviest ska-rythms, you will understand why HOPALONG KNUT is one of Norways best live bands.

HOPALONG KNUT started playing ska in the shanty town of Trondheim, HOMMELVIK in the year of 2K. They’ve released two albums, Feilkalibrert tidsmaksin (Uncalibrated timemachine ) in 2005 and Evolusjonens trøst (The comfort of the evolution) in 2006, in addition to two EPs, Bautastein (Obelisk) in 2002 and I levende live (Alive) in 2003. But it is the concerts that made HOPALONG KNUT famous. They’ve had almost 300 celebrated concerts all over Norway. Klikk LYD to listen to some songs or UTGIVELSER to see the complete discography.

HOPALONG KNUT has also formed the band SAMVIRKELAGET together with the Norwegian rap group Gatas Parlament and released the album Musikk (2007). On this record you’ll find the controversial song “Stopp Volden” that attracted a lot of attention when Politiets fellesforbund (the Norwegian Police Labour Union) pulled SAMVIRKELAGET before the court of law to make the song illegal due to its content. The police lost.
